Carsten Rossenhövel is Managing Director and co-founder of EANTC AG (European Advanced Networking Test Center). Based in Berlin, Germany, EANTC is a test lab specializing in telecommunication technologies and offers vendor-neutral network testing services for manufacturers, service providers, and enterprise customers.   In this role Carsten has over 20 years of experience in telecommunication networks testing and is responsible for EANTC's business development and marketing. His technical areas of expertise include Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and transport network solutions (MPLS; SDN; Carrier Ethernet).   Before joining EANTC, he studied Computer Science at the Technical University of Berlin and worked as a Software Engineer as well as Consultant in the financial services and media sector. In 1999 he founded EANTC together with Gabriele Schrenk and Herbert Almus.

Transport Independent Service Function Chaining (SFC)
Service Function Chain (SFC) allows the selected traffic to traverse an ordered set of Service Function Forwarders (SFF) and Service Functions (SF) in the network. To some extent, SFC could be deemed as a special application of the source routing mechanism. Describing how to leverage the USR to realize a transport-independent SFC by encoding the SFC path information as an MPLS label stack.

Jim Guichard, a Distinguished Engineer and Head of IP protocol innovation at Huawei, is an experienced network and protocol architect with 25+ years of industry experience and expertise in areas such as Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), IP routing, L3VPN’s, Software Defined Networking (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and Service Chaining.   Jim is the inventor of 100+ US & international patents related to IP, MPLS, and network services, and is widely respected for his MPLS/IP, routing, SDN/NFV expertise. He is also the author of several books including “MPLS & VPN Architectures, volumes I & II” and “Definitive MPLS Network Designs”.

SRv6 for 5G Mobile
5G mobile network is expected to provide flexible data path to be optimized based on requirements from the applications of 5G. Describing what the issues in current mobile networking for that and how SRv6 can deal with those issues to make the data path in the 5G mobile simple and programmable. And also sharing the latest status in SDOs for 5G mobile.

Satoru Matsushima,
Deputy Director, Softbank

Satoru Matsushima is a Deputy Director in SoftBank's Network Division of Technology Unit. He has experience in the telecommunication industry in design, planning and deploying networksand services.   His expertise in IP based technologies, such as MPLS, IPv6, SDN and other related protocols. He participates regularly in IETF standardization meetings, and co-authors Request For Comment (RFC) documents and Internet Drafts to standardize protocols.  He is currently working to develop new mobile network architecture and solutions with software defined infrastructures and virtualization technology. The goal of his work is to simplify current networks and is able to provide programmability for 5G applications.

Flexible Algorithms in IGP: a Distributed SR-TE Solution
In some cases a customer may request its service provider/operator to steer the traffic over specific path to meet specific customer SLA requirements. In majority of cases these specific customer requirements can be framed into pre-defined path/topology options based on commonly used constrains.
Depicting how these use cases can be solved with Flex Algo to design constrained topology/path for unicast as well as multicast based on operator design logic.

Arkadiy Gulko, Principal Network Architect, Thomson Reuters

Arkadiy Gulko is a Principal Network Architect at Thomson Reuters. He has more than 20 years of in-depth experience in network architecture, design, development and service transition.  Arkadiy, as the principal technologist, has been deeply involved in setting a vision for the future, research and development to proactively approach network challenges and upcoming business requirements.   Throughout his career, he has led on introducing various innovative technologies: he was one of the first operators to support native multicast and later MVPN services; he pioneered in commencing ATM, DWDM, IP/MPLS, IPT/VOIP technology within his organization.   In his current role, Arkadiy is responsible for transformation to an orchestrated connectivity platform to develop and operate a modern, secure and fully automated set of Network Connectivity Services underpinned by Segment Routing and BIER Technology. He is a co-author and contributor to multiple IETF drafts."

As lead architect in Cisco SP business group, he was responsible for defining Cisco next-generation network platforms, architectures and solutions for the SP and Web market segments.

Clarence Filsfils,
Cisco Fellow

Clarence Filsfils, a Cisco Systems Fellow, has a 20-year expertise leading innovation, productization, marketing and deployment for Cisco Systems.   Trusted and respected by key decision makers across major WEB/OTT, SP’s and large Enterprises, Clarence enjoys working with these operators to listen to their needs and requirements, and then get things done from product design to deployment.   He invented the Segment Routing Technology (over 40 patents) and is leading its productization, marketing and deployment at record execution speed. For this contribution, he received the Pioneer Award - Cisco's most prestigious award honoring innovative engineering. The award celebrates engineering contribution that brings growth in new markets, redefines current markets, and provides game-changing improvements to engineering productivity.   Previously, Clarence invented and led the Fast Routing Convergence Technology (over 30 patents) and was the lead designer for Cisco System’s QoS (20 patents) and large-scale IP/MPLS deployments.   Clarence is a regular speaker at leading industry conferences. He holds over 130 patents and is a prolific writer, either in academic circle (Sigcomm 2015), or standard (8 RFC’s, 20 drafts on standard’s track) or books.   Clarence holds a Masters in Management from Solvay Business School and a Masters of Engineering in Computer Science from the University of Liege.

Rajiv Asati, a Distinguished Engineer with 18+ yrs of Cisco life, is responsible for 'Architectures & Strategies' in Advanced Services CTO team with a focus on disruptive technologies.   He is a Subject Matter Expert/Consultant, a key goto technical resource, and well respected thought-leader across many key IP/NGN technologies (Virtualization, IPv6, IP/MPLS, Routing, BNG, Multicast, L3/L2VPN, QoS, Video etc) and related products. He has 70+ Patents (issued/pending) in the area of networking, security, IoT, block-chain etc., CCIE certification, and written 100+ engineering documents/design guides/white-papers. He also works very closely with the development engineering to drive the forward-looking features.   During his Cisco career, he has worked with Service Providers, Enterprises, Govt./Universities etc. around the world, strategizing and architecting/designing large scale/complex IP and MPLS based multi-play networks and providing trusted advisory to CxOs. He incubated the 1st IP NGN Solution architecture (CESNA) for Cable MSOs/SPs back in 2006 and led its evolution and worldwide adoption through 2011.   Rajiv has presented at numerous conferences/seminars such as NCTA, SCTE Cable Show, APRICOT, CiscoLive, MPLS Congress, SEVTs, EBCs etc. since 2003. He was one of the featured Speakers on ciscolive.com in 2011. His ongoing industry standards contributions IETF (10+ RFCs & drafts in 6man, v6ops, softwire, DHC, IDR, MPLS WGs etc.) and CableLabs (BSoD L2VPN, DPoEPON, DOCSIS 3.0 OSSI & MEF specifications).   Prior to joining Cisco, Rajiv worked with 'AT&T Labs' to design & deploy Advanced Intelligent Networks (AIN), and Nortel Networks to develop SS7 & ISDN protocols based switches.

She leads the Enterprise IPv6 efforts with the long-term goal of moving all corporate services to IPv6-Only.  Prior to joining Microsoft, Veronika worked in Cisco as a Consulting Systems Engineer in the Global Service Provider team.  Veronika chairs the UK IPv6 Council which she founded in order to bring the technical, business and government community together and to progress the IPv6 deployments in the UK.

Recently he took the role of Director Product Marketing for IP.   Roland holds a MSc. in Electronic Engineering with a specialization in Telecommunications from the University of Antwerp and an Alcatel International Master in Management.

Prior to this Ranga worked on Product Management of Cisco Network Services Orchestrator (NSO) - NFV Orchestration, Elastic Services Controller (ESC) - VNF Manager , and Cisco NFV Infrastructure (NFVI) by partnering with Redhat, Intel, Zenoss, WWT etc.   Ranga has over twenty years of experience in computer networking, virtualization and cloud technologies in different roles: product development, technical marketing and product management.   He has a Masters degree in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai and MBA from Santa Clara University.

Sonny is Product Line Manager in Cisco Service Provider Networking Automation and Analytics Business Unit and currently manages the product line of WAN AutomationEngine (WAE), including WAE’s integrated solution with Cisco’s XR Traffic Controller (XTC).   Sonny has over seventeen years’ experience in the industry. He has spent a good number of those years in the field as a Consulting System Engineer, working with service provider customers, helping them with solutions for network management, planning, and optimization. He has also worked as a Network Engineer for several global service providers, providing him with an intimate insight and understanding of the challenges and needs of service provider customers.   Sonny holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from National University of Singapore, and Master’s degree in Finance from Singapore Management University. He is also a CCIE holder.

Ori Gerstel is founder and CTO of Sedona Systems – a leading supplier of multilayer network control software. Before starting Sedona, Ori was a Principal Engineer at Cisco, where he was responsible for driving the architecture of router-transport integration.   Before joining Cisco in 2002, Ori held senior architecture positions at Tellabs and Nortel, where he architected the first mesh optical network and the first fully switched optical network, respectively. He started his work in optical networking at IBM, where the first commercial DWDM system was developed. For his contributions, Ori was awarded the grade of IEEE Fellow (2008) and OSA Fellow (2014).   Ori has published approximately 100 papers in the main international conferences and journals in the field, as well as several book chapters. He holds over 35 granted patents on optical and multilayer networks, and a similar number of pending patents.   He served as Editor in Chief for IEEE/OSA JOCN and as a conference committee member and co-chair of several conferences and is regularly invited to teach short courses, attend panels, and give plenary talks at the main conferences of the field. He also serves as steering committee member for OFC. Ori holds a PhD from Technion (Israel Institute of Technology).

Olivier Dugeon, Senior Research Engineer, Orange Labs

Olivier Dugeon is a senior research engineer, member of the Network of Future expert community and Open Source Governance at Orange Labs Lannion.   Olivier received an Engineering degree from the “Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Sciences Appliquées et de Technologie” (ENSSAT), Lannion in 1989, the PhD degree from the University of Rennes-I in 1997 and the Habilitation to Coordinate Research (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) from the “Institut National Polytechnique”, Toulouse in 2008. Since 1990 he has been with Orange Labs Lannion France, working in the field of network architecture and network engineering for QoS control and architecture. He has actively been contributing to different success IST projects such as CADENUS, EuQoS and ETICS as well as CELTIC project Feel@Home.   Olivier currently works in H2020 project 5GeX in the field of Multidomain Orchestrator for Inter-Carrier Services. He's centre of interests are on PCE and SDN controler in order to deliver end-to-end QoS for IP/MPLS networks. He is also involved in Open Source communities, in particular on Free Range Routing and OpenDayLight.

Describing the role of a SDN Controller in the TV Studio environment, in order to allow migration from legacy Synchronous Digital Interface (SDI) to an IP-based switch fabric.

Julian Lucek, Distinguished Systems Engineer, Juniper Networks

Julian Lucek is a Distinguished Systems Engineer at Juniper Networks, where he has been working with many operators on the design and evolution of their networks. Before joining Juniper Networks in 1999, he worked at BT for several years, at first in the Photonics Research Department and later in the data transport and routing area. During this time he gained a PhD in ultrahigh-speed optical transmission and processing from Cambridge University.   He is the holder of several patents in the area of communications technology. He has a Master's degree in Physics from Cambridge University and holds Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE) certification number 21.   He is co-author of the book "MPLS-Enabled Applications: Emerging Developments and New Technologies", by Ina Minei and Julian Lucek. This book is now in its third edition.

Johan Gustawsson is a Senior Network Architect with Telia Carrier, driving network architecture, strategy and transformation in IP/MPLS, automation and virtualization for the world’s #1 Internet backbone. Prior to that, he was part of the Telia Group (CTO office) Network Architecture team focusing on cross-OpCo synergies and initiatives for global SD-WAN deployment, network virtualization as well as created the architecture for the group-wide automation & orchestration framework. In addition, he is providing subject matter expertise in IP routing, BNG, SDN and NFV.   Johan also holds a degree of Science in Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology and is currently serving as an advisor to several open-source projects including OpenDaylight and OPNFV

Proactive Service Restoration
In response to the threat of an optical interface failure, critical traffic is rerouted to other paths in the network before the link fails. This was accomplished in a real-world environment with software that used link interface statistics, NetFlow data, as well as routing telemetry and analytics to predict the interface failure.

Cengiz Alaettinoglu,

Cengiz Alaettinoglu is a founding member of the company's R&D staff and provides technical direction for the product portfolio. His early experimental work, analyzing routing convergence and scalability properties, and correlating network performance issues to routing protocol incidents, lead to the creation of route analytics technology and the Packet Design product suite. He is currently working on real-time SDN analytics and orchestration applications that intelligently satisfy path and bandwidth demands without negatively impacting other services.   Prior to Packet Design, Cengiz was with USC's Information Sciences Institute where he worked on the Routing Arbiter project. He was co-chair of the IETF's Routing Policy System Working Group, has been published widely, and is a popular lecturer at industry events worldwide.   He holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, and a MS and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Maryland

Why is EVPN the Best Technology for Successful SD-WAN Services
Explaining the EVPN key benefits to support SD-WAN service requirements. VXLAN, a well-known traffic encapsulation in DC environments, is available for EVPN to assure connectivity between branches and cloud based services. The EVPN control plane also includes a wide range of security features, beneficial for SD-WAN services which mainly reside in untrusted environments (branch sites connected via internet).

Gilles Geerts, Senior IP Consulting Engineering, Nokia

Gilles Geerts is Consulting Engineer in the Network Solutions and Consulting team at Nokia, EMEA region. In this role, he provides design guidelines based upon best practices and customer requirements with a special focus on IP/MPLS architectures and next-gen Business Services. For this, he interworks with Nokia technical sales as well as technical experts in leading EMEA service providers.   Currently based in Antwerp, Belgium, Gilles has more than 17 years of experience working on Enterprise and Provider IP/MPLS networks throughout the world. He has been part of the Nokia¹s IP Division for the last 13 years in a consulting and new product introduction role.   He holds Nokia SRA (#28) certificate and has a master degree in electro-mechanics.

Krzysztof Grzegorz Szarkowicz (JNCIE, CCIE) has over 20 years of experience in networking industry, gained during early years of his career with Hewlett Packard Labs, Telia Research, Ericsson, and Cisco Systems. Then, in 2007, Krzysztof joined Juniper Networks Professional Services team and later became Senior Consultant.  He has worked on multiple different projects - mainly in Europe and Middle East - with many Telecoms and ISP including some of global reach such as Deutsche Telekom, Telefonica, Telenor, Telstra, Orange, Vodafone or Saudi Telecom.  He is the co-author of O'Reilly book titled "MPLS in the SDN Era". Currently Krzysztof holds the position of Product Line Manager in Routing Product Team in Juniper Networks.
