MPLS World 2013 Agenda: The SDN Impact
Upperside Conferences is happy to announce the agenda of the 15th Edition of the MPLS World Congress, to be held in Paris from March 19-22, 2013.

SDN and OpenFlow intersection with MPLS will be the most important sessions of the new programme.

The first day of the conference will indeed cover all the technical issues and uncertainties that have arisen with the appearance of the so-called SDN Architecture.

What aspects of MPLS are impacted by SDN interfaces? What is the impact on network architectures and functionalities?

The conference will gather key experts like Dave Ward (Cisco), Yakhov Rekhter (Juniper), Kireeti Kompella (Contrail), Axel Clauberg (DT), Thomas Morin (Orange), Xipeng Xiao (Huawei), Sunil Khandekar (Alcatel-Lucent) and Maria Napierala (AT&T) to define a concept that has yet to be clearly identified.

The Conference agenda is now available online!

The following questions will be addressed in presentations during the first day:

- How can MPLS/BGP IP VPN technology provide a solution for network virtualization controller functions that manage the forwarding state of network devices?
- How to resolve problems such as multi-path, disjoint path and traffic engineering without requiring RSVP-TE in the context of SDN?
- If SDN is a centrally managed and distributed control plane that orchestrates network services, how can such an SDN be applied in the WAN to address the service requirements?
- What is the role of OpenFlow in SDN networks?

The first day will be closed by a debate, entitled « If we don't have a definition of what it is, what isn't SDN? ». The debate will address related issues and will attempt to propose suitable responses to the expected 1,300-plus delegates.

End-to-end, Edge, LTE and Core Network Issues

In the last two days, the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress will not neglect to focus on key technical issues during the conference, including end-to-end architectures, LTE mobile backhaul, protection, edge and traffic optimization.

Parallels with the SDN Summit 2013

The Second Edition of the SDN Summit will be held from March 21-22, at the same place and the same days as the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress.

Participants will therefore benefit from the presence of the 1,300-plus MPLS & Ethernet World Congress delegates.

Upperside Conferences expects 400-plus delegates to attend the summit.
