NFV & SDN Summit: Solutions for Network Virtualization

The third Edition of the NFV & SDN Summit will take place in Paris from 18 to 21 March. The organizers look forward to welcoming more than 500 participants this year. The event will be co-located with the 16th Edition of MPLS SDN World, an international congress attracting more than 1000 participants.

How to Combine NFV and SDN Technologies?

Being an operator initiative, structured by the ETSI, the NFV project has recently gained a big momentum within the telecom industry. Even if the objectives of SDN and NFV are similar, they differ in how they go about achieving it. The most eminent members of the ETSI NFV WG, as well as representatives of the ONF will discuss the benefits and challenges of combining these technologies in order to build a more flexible network.

The Agenda: Architecture, Standardization Progress, Use Cases, Cloud NFV, Performance Issues, « Non Intel » approaches

The program will highlight NFV architecture and standardization process. Other sessions will cover Service chaining, OpenSource, Cloud aspects and performance issues. A large session is devoted to current use cases and first NFV&SDN implementations. Non Intel Approaches for NFV will also enjoy special focus in the agenda.

Two Debates on Data Center Virtualization and NFV Technical Issues

The first panel, « Data Center Virtualization Convergence and NFV Network Requirements », will gather the most important IETF contributors in this domain. The second one, « Is NFV Ready for Prime Time? » will be addressed by service providers directly involved in the NFV standardization process at the ETSI.
